Hi Everyone, 

CASS has received 3 free passes to the ‘North American’ competition at Spruce Meadows, for July 5-7.  Each of these passes includes 2 free adult tickets, 2 free children’s tickets, 2 kids activity tickets which can be used for the carousel, mini train, etc. If you would like these tickets, please reply to this email to let me know.

Calgary has a new free arts event going on all through the city this summer-- Lawn Chair Theatre. It’s family-friendly and free and you can find out where it will be near you by going to https://www.calgary.ca/CSPS/CNS/Pages/Children-and-youth/Seasonal-programs/Family-seasonal-programs.aspx

FREE:

Jul 2-Oct 15: Farmers Market @ Triwood Community Association (2244 Chicoutimi Dr NW) 3-7pm. Runs every Tuesday throughout the summer.

Jul 3: Graffiti Mural Summer Camp @ The Alex Community Food Centre  (4202 17 Ave SE) Youth ages 14-24 are welcome to take part in a free summer mural camp. For times and registration, check out https://allevents.in/calgary/graffiti-mural-summer-program/200017450455102

Jul 3- Aug 28: Music in the Plaza @ Heritage Park Town Square, right before the gates. 6-8pm. Each Wednesday evening there will be live music. See artist listings here: https://www.todocanada.ca/city/calgary/event/music-plaza-calgary/

Jul 5: Salsa on the Street @ 100 Stephen Ave SE 6-9pm. Salsa DJ’s take over the block. There will be instructors from Dance studios there if you want help to learn to dance Salsa. 

Jul 6: Experience the Reservoir @ South Glenmore Park (24 St SW) 1-4pm.  Cycle, walk or roll through a scavenger hunt along the pathway system. This event is weather dependent. Call 311 for updates or cancellations.

Jul 6: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Movie Screening @ Tomkins Park (8 st & 17 Ave SW). This event is part of Saturday’s on 17th; which starts at noon each Saturday from Jun 8-July 27 and features live music, games, and a market before the movie screenings at 6pm. Jul 5-7: Mexifest @ Eau Claire Plaza (255 Barclay Parade SW) Tickets are $15, free for seniors and kids under 12. Find out more at https://mexifest.ca

Jul 6: The Great Queer Bannock Face Off @ CommunityWise Resource Centre (223 12 Ave SW) 3-5pm. Tickets to try the sweet or savoury, baked or fried bannock will be priced on a sliding scale, and there will be free tea and coffee.
