Hi Everyone,

CASS will be hosting an information session from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) about the Disability Tax Credit and the Registered Disability Savings Plan on May 10th, 2019 from 1-2:30pm. Everyone is welcome. You will learn about what these credits and benefits are, and what the process is to apply. Part of the presentation will also cover common scams and how to avoid them.

On Monday May 14th, from 1:-2:30 pm there will be a knitting group meeting at the CASS office to chat, trade patterns, and offer encouragement to new and expert knitters and crocheters. This group is free and open to anyone from CASS. If you have any questions or want to know more, please contact


Apr 30: Vecova’s 50th Anniversary Party @ Vecova (3304 33 St NW) 3-6pm. Music dancing, food and a raffle.

May 1: Free Yoga Class @ Central Library (800 3 St SE) 9:30-11:45am. Free, gentle yoga class. You will need to register through as there are only 25 spots available.

May 1: Mad Max Ride YYC “Make your own costume” workshop @ Fuse 33 Makerspace (1720 Radisson Dr SE) 6-9pm. Get together to make costumes for the upcoming Mad Max themed  Critical Mass Bike Ride on June 22.

May 3-Jun 16: CHROMA—Public Art Installation at SouthCentre Mall (100 Anderson Rd SE) Original public art by local artists in the Mall’s Centre Court. This installation will be open during regular mall hours.

May 3: Calgary Night Market @ Eau Claire Mall (200 Barclay Parade SW) 5-11pm. Vendors, games, and a DJ.

May 4: Workshop Studio’s Spring Fling @ Workshop Studios (2501 ALyth Road SE) Noon-6pm. There is a ton going on at this Open Studio, including a fundraiser for the Calgary Humane Society).

May 4: Parkdale Art Club Spring Art Sale @ Parkdale Centre (3512 5 Ave NW) 10am-4pm. Refreshments and original local art for sale.

May 5: Mount Pleasant Potters Guild Spring Pottery Market @ Triwood Community Hall (2244 Chicoutimi Dr NW) 10am-4pm. Hand-made functional and decorative pottery.

May 5: Building Sacred Bridges @ Beth Tzedec Congregation (1325 SW Glenmore Train) 7-8:30pm. works by Jewish, Muslim, Sikh and Christian participants. Donations welcome, and will go towards Habitat for Humanity.


May 3-5: Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show @ Vivo (11950 Country Village Link NE) Fri 1-9pm, Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 10am-5pm. Admission is $7 per day, $10 for the weekend.

May 3: “Most Imaginary Worlds” with Inside Out Theatre (cSpace King Edward (1721 29 Ave SW) 7pm. Tcikets are $20 each.

May 4: Calgary Horticultural Society Garden Show @ Max Bell (1001 Barlow Tr SE) Admission is $15. And there will be speakers, workshops, and activities.

May 5: Calgary Music Collector’s show @ Acadia Recreation Complex (240 90 Ave SE) 11am-4pm.  Regular Admission is $5, if you want to get in early (9:30am), admission is $10. There will be more than 100 vendors selling records, tapes, cds and memorabilia.
